Wave Optics: Class 12 Physics Chapter 10 Notes in Hindi

Pichle chapter mein humne light ko ek "Ray" mana tha, lekin Chapter 10 mein hum jaanenge ki light asal mein ek Wave (Tarang) hai. Huygens aur Young jaise scientists ne prove kiya ki light interference aur diffraction jaise phenomena dikhati hai jo sirf waves hi kar sakti hain.


1. Huygens’ Principle (Huygens ka Siddhant)

Huygens ne bataya ki light kaise aage badhti hai. Unke mutabik:

  • Wavefront: Aisa surface jahan saare particles ek hi phase mein vibrate karte hain.

  • Har point ek naye source ki tarah kaam karta hai jise Secondary Wavelets kehte hain.


2. Interference of Light (Prakash ka Vyatikaran)

Jab do light waves ek dusre par overlap (superimpose) karti hain, toh light ki energy redistribute ho jati hai. Isse kahin par light bahut tez (Bright) aur kahin par bahut kam (Dark) dikhti hai.

  • Constructive Interference: Jab waves ek hi phase mein milti hain (Bright Fringe).

  • Destructive Interference: Jab waves opposite phase mein milti hain (Dark Fringe).


3. Young’s Double Slit Experiment (YDSE)

Yeh is chapter ka sabse important experiment hai. Isne prove kiya ki light ek wave hai.

  • Fringe Width ($\beta$): Do lagatar bright ya dark fringes ke beech ki doori.

    $$\beta = \frac{D\lambda}{d}$$

    (Yahan $D$ = screen ki doori, $d$ = slits ke beech ki doori, $\lambda$ = wavelength).


4. Diffraction (Prakash ka Vivartan)

Jab light kisi sharp edge ya chote hole (aperture) se guzarti hai, toh wo kinaron se mud jati hai. Is mude hue asar ko Diffraction kehte hain.

  • Single Slit Experiment: Isme central fringe sabse choudi (wide) aur bright hoti hai, aur side waali fringes ki brightness kam hoti jati hai.


5. Polarization (Prakash ka Dhruvan)

Normal light har direction mein vibrate karti hai. Polarization wo process hai jisse light ke vibrations ko sirf ek hi plane mein restrict kar diya jata hai.

  • Brewster’s Law: $n = \tan i_p$

    (Yahan $n$ refractive index hai aur $i_p$ polarizing angle).
